Who we get to be
Reflections for the Year of the Snake
Happy New Year, brilliant embodied ones,
The New Year is here. And while we honor many portals of rebirth, like after a cleanse, birthday, equinox, the turning of this calendar that governs our collective rhythm, especially in how we relate to one another and plan our days, holds a particular power too.
2025, the Year of the Snake, humbled me.
To shed old skins.
It was painful.
To move slowly through the underbrush of shadows and do the best I can to emerge transformed in some way.
It meant returning to the student role in ways I never anticipated.
💔 Heartbreak like no other taught me about my relational patterns.
🫂 My sister and best friend becoming mothers, invited me to devote myself to the magic of mamas, and eventually, to train as a full-spectrum doula.
🫀 Witnessing borders grow taller while our hearts call us closer, learning to hold the paradox of living in a world that tries to divide us even as most of us crave togetherness. Pulling me to open my heart in the most unlikely places, and to the most unlikely people.
Each chapter humblingly pushed me deeper into connection as an auntie, a lover, a daughter, a student, a teacher, a guide.
Witnessing my sister step into motherhood...the magic of mamas.
Pleasing to Binging
I'd spent years people-pleasing and binge eating without realizing the two were connected. That I was using food to recover from the stress of fawning, of performing and freezing simultaneously, creating tension and anxiety that food helped me numb.

Jan 2, 2026 Navigating Winter Sweets & Seeds AKA - do the best we can with what we got! "The wise person eats when calm, not when disturbed." — Ayurvedic Principle Hi Love, We're in the heart of winter now, a time when the world asks us to turn inward, to tend to the most important thing: the seed that will grow our forest. Spring will come. We will bloom, initiate, expand. But right now? Right now is for rooting down. And the way we nourish ourselves in these winter months sets the...
Dec 7, 2025 An Invitation | Panchakarma 2026 Hello love, As we approach the close of the calendar year and the Year of the Snake — a year of transformation, shedding old skins, and remembering who we truly are — I'm extending an invitation to those who feel the call to deeper strengthening work. I'm organizing an intimate Virechana Panchakarma cleanse retreat for September 2026 (tentative dates in early September), likely in New Mexico or Mexico, for a small, dedicated group. This is for you...
Sept 18, 2025 Shadows & Cornbread Grief and hope, shadow and light, these are all two sides of the same coin. Hello love, I'm writing to you from my kitchen in California, integrating the medicine from almost a month in Portugal. And yes, I'm calling travel medicine. Note, that medicine isn't always easy to take down... Shadow work found me Picture this: I'm sitting in a circle with women I've been working with for months alongside others I'd never met before. Different faces and stories, but...
